Title: My Ex From Hell
Author: Tellulah Darling
Ease: Moderate
Rating: 3/5
My Ex From Hell is the first book in the Blooming Goddess Trilogy. In this book we meet Sophie Bloom and she’s about to learn one hell of a secret about herself.
Darling peppers her novel with humour, wit and references to popular culture. Using the Ancient Greek mythology of Persephone, Goddess of Spring and Kyrillos, son of Hades, as a background she begins a war between humans and the Gods, with a reluctant Goddess as the heroine.
Unfortunately, I found that many of the characters were two – dimensional. Sophie’s best-friend Hannah never shakes off her beautiful-brainiac caricature. Bethany is nothing more than a self-absorbed, superficial, bully. While I found the book entertaining, I didn’t care overly much about any of the characters. Perhaps Darling is going to flesh them out in the rest of the series but I don’t know if I can be bothered reading on.
I haven’t been able to read your articles for a long time and now I see what all I have missed. I had to inform you though that I have nominated you for an award. Check this out: https://idlejabber.wordpress.com/2017/06/26/awesome-blogger-award/
